    Adopting for Courses

      Textbook Adoption Procedures:

Each instructor adopting a MediaMatrix-based adaptive instructional textbook may customize his/her text by selecting the Table of Contents they wish to use. They may delete some topics and/or reorder the sequence of chapters anyway they like merely by submitting the outline they wish to adopt.

      CyberRat Adoption Procedures:

Adopting CyberRat by itelsef is simple. Notify us by e-mail of your intent within two weeks prior to classes starting (see our Required Course Setup instructions below) so we can setup your courses. CyberRat is sold on-line (or via your bookstores) and mailed via US Postal Services to each student making the purchase the day after payment is received.

You may also decide that you wish to adopt our Learning and Conditioning adaptive tutorials, and should inform us of this decision so that a separate course setup required for textbook student registration and use may be completed. Please note that students will be guided to register on-line for the Tutorials services, then will also register CyberRat upon receipt of their CD as per instructions printed inside the CD jewel-case. Thus there is both a "textbook" and "laboratory" registration required for dual use.

Required Course Setups on Our Servers:

When an adoption notification for either CyberRat and/or one of our adaptive instructional Textbooks is sent to us by e-mail, we work with that instructor to establish appropriate course records in the course and student registration databases on our own servers. This involves making a database record for each college/university and each section taught where the text will be required. This allows the text to be used in multiple schools and multiple sections, and we can even customize the text for each section if that is desired (as might be the case, for example, if one section were an honor section or a section for majors vs non-majors). Each instructor must supply a multi-digit code that uniquely identifies access to only that instructor's records for instructor maintenance of course parameters and the retrieval of student grades.

Each semester requires a new setup, since sections frequently change. Simply notify us by e-mail (or we will contact you) for new setups each semester.
